Medical Imaging Journals
The Journal of
Medical Imaging promotes peer-reviewed publishing and archiving of clinical and translational research in the field that continues to benefit from technological advancements and clinical developments in early detection , diagnosis, and medical interventions, and understanding of normal conditions. Medical imaging is often interpreted as referring to the collection of techniques that create noninvasive images of the body's internal dimension. Medical imaging is the method and procedure of producing visual representations of a body's interior for clinical study and medical intervention, and visual representation of the operation of certain organs or tissues. Medical imaging helps to expose internal structures that are concealed by the skin and bones, and to detect and treat disease. Medical imaging also provides a database of normal
anatomy and
physiology so that abnormalities can be detected. Although imaging of extracted organs and
tissues may be performed for medical purposes, such procedures are generally viewed as part of
pathology rather than medical imagery.
