Health Education

Traditionally, health education within the Academic Health Center (AHC) has concentrated on training physicians and medical professionals on clinical practice and research concerns. Emerging literature suggests the need for new models of health education as research is increasingly translational and as models of health care are being extended to both medical and community settings. Innovative approaches for health education have been recorded, including models that encourage learning outside the walls of academic health centres, and projects to ensure student and community involvement through training.
