retinoblastoma (RB). Recently important developments have been made in molecular biology and disease control. Over the past decade, there has been a better understanding of RB genetics, the discovery of new tumor markers expressed by RB tumors, the identification of high-risk histopathological factors following enucleation, and new treatment methods including periodic chemotherapy and intraarterial superselective chemotherapy.All of these advances have resulted in improved survival rates for affected kids, improved eye salvage rates and improved visual outcomes.
