Obesity may be a multifold disease along side a huge amount of body fat.
Obesity is not just a cosmetic concern. it's a ill
health that enhances an individual’s risk of other diseases and
health problems, like heart condition, diabetes, high vital sign, and certain cancers. Overweight is defined as unusual or excessive fat accumulation which will impair health. Body mass index (BMI) may be a transparent index of weight-for-height that's commonly wont to classify overweight and
obesity in adults. it's defined as an individual's weight in kilograms divided by the square of his height in meters The overweight /
obesity is calculated and established by the measurement of the body mass index. New work has found that the distribution of body fat plays a more important function in determining disease risk than body mass, and individuals with a higher proportion of visceral fat are at greater risk of associated diseases. Waist diameter and waist-tohip ratio are indices for distribution of body fat. This is also important to
stress today that overweight /
obesity are diseases of complicated conditions affecting appetite (dis)regulation and absorption of resources, self-control and physical (in)activity. According to new studies,
cardiovascular risk factors have also been observed in children and teenagers who are overweight, so
screening for
cardiovascular risk factors is very useful at any age and degree of elevated body mass index. For overweight participants, metabolic and hormonal changes arise early when they are already physically stable. Increasing evidence suggests that effective weight loss strategies are needed, as a first step in treating overweight / obesity.
