Indexed Imaging Journals

An indexed image is made up of a table called X and a color map matrix, called map. During this documentation. The pixel values in the array are the direct indices of the colormap. The colormap matrix is an m-by-3 double sophistication array containing floating-point values within the range [0,1]. Each row of the map specifies the red, green , and blue components of a single color. The indexed image uses the direct mapping of pixel values for the mapping of map values. The color of each image pixel is calculated by using the corresponding value of X as an index in the plot. Usually, a colormap is stored with an indexed image and is automatically loaded with an image once the imread function is used. You want to keep a track of the relation between images and color map after reading the picture and hence the color map in the MATLAB workspace as separate variables.
