Disaster Response

The second phase of the disaster management cycle is the disaster response. The disaster life cycle consists of the steps and certain plan of actions which are followed by the emergency managers in order to respond to the disasters. Each and every crucial step in the disaster management cycle correlates to the part of the ongoing cycle which is nothing but emergency management. This type of disaster management cycle is used by the emergency management community from the very basic level to the national and international level. The four phases of disaster models have been designed by the National Governor’s Association for the emergency managers to respond to a disaster during a comprehensive emergency situation such as mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. Each phase of the disaster model follows some unique set of principles, strategies and distinct tools to tackle different challenges from the issues related to the disaster response to recovery of the economics and business after a disaster.
