Proteomics Open Access Journals

Proteomics is a large-scale protein study. Protein is an important component of living organisms with many functions. Proteome is a whole set of proteins that are produced or modified by an organism or system. Proteomics makes it possible to identify an increase in the amount of protein. This depends on the time and needs of the individual or the burden on which the cell or organism is exposed. Proteomics is an interdisciplinary field that has benefited greatly from the genetic information of various genome projects, including the human genome project. This involves the study of proteomes based on the overall level of protein composition, structure and activity. This is an important part of functional genomics. Proteomics usually refers to large-scale experimental analysis of proteins and proteomes, but are often used specifically for protein purification and mass spectrometry. Proteomics is based on three main technological bases, including methods for fractionating complex proteins or peptide mixtures, MS to obtain the data needed to identify individual proteins, and bioinformatics to analyze and collect MS data.
