Petroleum-in-Industries

In today's modern life a diverse range of materials produced by petroleum industry has gained importance. The most prominent Industrial application of petroleum products is in their use as fuels. Petroleum is formed when large quantities of deceased organisms, usually zooplankton and algae, are embedded underneath sedimentary rock and subjected to intense heat and pressure. Petroleum is recovered mostly through oil drilling. Petroleum in its original form is obtained as a crude oil and its products are separated from crude oil upon distillation. Petroleum Fuels are derived from crude oil. Different fuels are used for distinct purposes as they possess different properties. Petrol, LPG, diesel, kerosene (jet fuel) and fuel oils are some different fuels used for different vehicles. Petroleum in Industries is also used as Non Fuel, Petrochemicals are used in Pesticides, plastics, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals and also the byproducts formed from the refining process also have its importance as a range of versatile materials. Petroleum Jelly is soft paraffin used in cosmetics to protect skin and also seal wounds. Lubricating Oils helps to lubricate machinery and vehicles which operate at high temperatures to Reduce wear and friction between moving parts. Petrochemicals are used in cleaning agents as Hydrocarbon solvents are ideal for cleaning greasy and oily residue.
