Palliative Chemotherapy Review Articles
This principle is fairly new on palliative chemotherapy. It's only in recent years that this symptom relief has become an important component of
cancer research clinical trials.
Chemotherapy is a general term for using a chemical agent to stop the development of
cancer cells. With the most common being, it can be administered in a variety of ways: orally-pills taken by mouth, intravenously-infused by a vein, topically applied to the skin.
Chemotherapy usually refers to chemicals such as alkylating agents, anti-metabolites, and antibiotics to the tumors. These chemicals are intended to kill and prevent the growth of
cancer cells, but they are biased. They are also destroying healthy
cells , causing side effects including diarrhea, hair loss, and infections.
