internet-infrastructure-recent-innovations: The usage of the Internet for
health education has been increasingly growing. It is reported that 85 per cent of the adult U.S. population are utilizing the Internet as of August 2012. Approximately 80 per cent of Internet users have searched for
health information through the Internet. It is estimated that approximately 4.5 per cent of all Internet searches are related to health. The Internet is also changing the way people get
health information and use it. The Pew Internet and American Life survey found that 34% of internet users read someone else's comments or experiences on
health or medical issues online, 24% of internet users consulted online reviews of particular medicines or medical treatment, eighteen per cent of internet users have gone online to find others who may have similar
health concerns. This is especially prevalence among people living with rare and chronic conditions. Although most of the health-related internet usage is associated with a current diagnosis of disease, the search for
information on diet, fitness, and internet exercise has also increased, suggesting that online internet users are increasingly interested in
health information that may be unrelated to particular symptoms or disease conditions. (Phoenix Mo, Use the Internet for Medical Education)
