Clinical Pharmacology Applications

Clinical pharmacology is the science that deals with the drugs in humans and their clinical use in patients. It is underpinned by the basic science of pharmacology, with an added focus on the application of pharmacological principles and quantitative methods in the real patient's population. It has a broad scope from the discovery of new target molecules to the effects of drug usage in large populations.Clinical pharmacology connects the gap between medical practices and laboratory sciences. It can be utilized for reducing poisoning events, minimising prescribing errors,de-prescribing ineffective medications and also for the promoting adherence to prescriptions for reducing the adverse drug reactions on humans .The main objective is to promote the safety of prescription, maximize the effects of drugs  and minimize its  side effects. In this aspect, there can be an association with pharmacists skilled in areas of drug information, medication safety and other aspects related to clinical pharmacology. In addition, the application of genetic, viro therapeutic  or biochemical techniques has led to a clear appreciation of the mechanisms that are involved in drug action.
