Bioprocessing-online-journals

BioProcessing Journal is a peer-reviewed, digital publication featuring the latest advances in technology and best practices for developing and producing safe and effective biologics. Bioprocessing is defined as any process for obtaining desired products using complete living cells or their components (e.g., bacteria, enzymes, chloroplasts). Bioprocessing is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, food, fuels and also chemicals with the help of an enzyme, or an animal cell in a bioreactor. It also includes genetic manipulation for the treatment of plants , animals and microorganisms such as yeasts, bacteria and fungi. Bioprocessing is also essential for a range of developing sectors and developments, including the development of green biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel, embryonic stem cells, vectors for gene therapy, and modern vaccines. In the biotech industry, the Food and Drug Administration imposes strict regulations on bioprocessing; this highly regulated environment has a huge impact on plant operations and the manufacture of products. The perceived 'green' benefits of using biomass, rather than fossil energy, for the production of chemicals and industrial products have led to the development of commercial interest in bioprocessing and bioproducts. The sustainability of renewable biomass, the substitution of deprived fossil energies and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from today's petroleum-based chemical and energy industries are other important benefit of the move towards bioproducts.
