Sociology-Journals

Sociology is the study of society , social relationship patterns , social interaction, and culture that surrounds daily life. It is a social science that uses different methods of empirical research and critical analysis to develop a body of social order and social change knowledge. The general science of society can also be known as sociology. While some sociologists conduct research that can be directly applied to social policy and welfare, others focus primarily on refining social process theoretical understanding.  As social researchers draw upon a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques, the range of social scientific methods has also expanded. In particular, the linguistic and cultural turns of the mid-20th century have led to increasingly interpretative, hermeneutical and philosophical approaches to social analysis. By comparison, the turn of the 21st century saw the emergence of new techniques that were rigorously analytical, statistical and quantitative, such as agent-based modeling and social network analysis.
