Nitrogen Fertilization Schorly Open Access Journals

Nitrogen fertiliser commendations are lower than for wheat. If growing crops for malting where a low grain nitrogen is essential then less N should be applied than on a crop grown for feed. Remember to adjust rates subject on fertiliser and grain prices as well as if organic manures have been applied. Early application of nitrogen to winter barley often encourages foliar diseases. The nitrogen should be applied to the seedbed with late-sown spring crops (other than on sands), whereas with the early-sown crop it should be split to elude leaching. Fertilizer nitrogen (N) produced by the Haber-Bosch procedure using fossil fuels has played a key role in enlightening global food production. Unfortunately, less than half of the 109 million tonnes of fertilizer N currently spent by agriculture each year is integrated into the aboveground biomass of crops.
