Neuroendocrine Regulation

Neuroendocrinology is the branch of biology (specifically physiology) that studies the interaction between the nervous system and the endocrine system, which is how the brain regulates the hormonal activity in the body.[1] Nervous and endocrine systems often act together in a process called neuroendocrine integration to regulate the physiological processes of the human body. Neuroendocrinology emerged from the understanding that the brain, in particular the hypothalamus, regulates the secretion of pituitary gland hormones, and subsequently extended to explore various endocrine and nervous system interconnections.
