MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS can be defined as a chronic , typically progressive disease involving damage to the sheaths of nerve cells in the brain & spinal cord , whose symptoms may include numbness , impairment of speech and muscular coordination , blurred vision & severe fatigue the cause  multiple sclerosis is unknown. Its considered an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues .this immune system malfunction destroys the fatty substance that coats & protects the nerve fibers in the brain & spinalcord.it can be diagnosed by MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING  ( MRI) , OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY (OCT) , SPINAL TAP , BLOOD TESTS ,VISUAL EVOKED POTENTIALS TEST.
