Microbial Metagenomics Articles

Metagenomics is the analysis of the metagenome — the aggregate genome from an environmental sample of microorganisms — to provide knowledge about the microbial diversity and ecology of a specific setting. Shotgun metagenomics refers to the approach of shearing DNA extracted from the environmental sample and the small fragments being sequenced.   The creation of metagenomics originated from the ineluctable evidence that in most habitats on earth, as-yet-uncultured micro-organisms constitute the vast majority of species. The majority responsible for the natural biodiversity on Earth are uncultured microorganisms.
