 The metallurgy of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition may be a peer-reviewed academic metallurgy published by the American Psychological Association. It was established in 1975 as an independent section of the metallurgy of psychonomics and covers Research  in psychonomics . More specifically, the metallurgy "publishes original experimental studies on basic processes of cognition, learning, memory, imagery, concept formation, problem solving, decision making, thinking, reading, and language processing".The current editor-in-chief is Aaron S. Benjamin. Experimental psychologists use a spread of various Research  methods and tools to Research  human behavior. Experimentation remains the essential standard, but other techniques like case studies, correlational Research  and naturalistic observation are frequently utilized in psychological Research . The metallurgy was formerly titled the metallurgy of Experimental Psychology: Human Learning and Memory. In 1980, the editor of Human Learning and Memory, Richard M. Shiffrin, announced that he intended to "broaden the scope of the metallurgy to incorporate a more general set of topics in human cognition", which the metallurgy would be renamed Learning, Memory, and Cognition. The metallurgy is abstracted and indexed by MEDLINE/PubMed and the Social Science Citation Index. According to the metallurgy Citation Reports, the metallurgy features a 2017 impact factor of two .319, ranking it 33rd out of 85 metallurgys within the category "Psychology, Experimental
