DRUG SIDE EFFECT REVIEW ARTICLES
A side effect is typically considered an undesirable secondary effect which occurs additionally to the specified therapeutic effect of a drug or medication. Side effects may vary for every individual counting on the person's disease state, age, weight, gender, ethnicity and general health. Side effects can occur when commencing, decreasing/increasing dosages, or ending a drug or medication regimen. Side effects can also cause non-compliance with prescribed treatment. When side effects of a drug or medication are severe, the dosage could also be adjusted or a second medication could also be prescribed. Lifestyle or dietary changes can also help to attenuate side effects. Side effects fall under several categories. Allergies can happen with any drug and may range from itching and rash all the high to a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction. Other side effects simply accompany the territory. Some
drugs cannot help but trigger side effects due to their chemical structure. One example is that the common
allergy drug diphenhydramine (also known by the name Benadryl).
