Diabetes Mellitus Associated With Tuberculosis

Patients with DM not only have a higher chance of TB but could be facing poorer outcomes of treatment. The effectiveness of a TB treatment can be measured with several endpoints: interim tests of conversion of the sputum culture after 2–3 months of treatment, associated with the success of the procedure; Rate of cure or failure at the end of treatment death rate during the treatment period; and rate of chronic or persistent TB among those who have successfully completed treatment.
