Transgenesis is that the method of introducing a
gene (referred to as a transgene) from one organism into the
genome of another organism. The goal is to express the
gene and exhibit some new property or characteristic in the resulting transgenic organism. Transgenic may be a term that describes an organism containing genes from another organism put into its
genome through recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid techniques. The process of introducing an exogenous
gene is named transgenesis. One of its key applications for experimental research .
Transgenesis refers to the method of introducing transgene from one organism into another with the intent of enabling the latter to exhibit a replacement property which will be transmitted to its offspring. Transgenic mice are one among the foremost common animal models used. A transgenic organism is one which contains genes originating from other species. Typically these genes give a few different abilities or functions to the organism. Soybeans are engineered to contain Glyphosate-resistance genes, and other crops are engineered to grow well in soil with high salt concentrations.
