Transgenesis News Scientific Journals

Transgenesis is the process of creating a new a gene (referred to as a transgene) from one species to another organism's genetic code. The goal is for the resulting transgenic organism to express the gene and show certain new properties or characteristics. It is made possible by the reality that the genetic code is common to all living beings. Transgenesis can be used to create a desire for types of species that are genetically distinct and thus add to genetic diversity. In certain instances, the transgenic protein can have an detrimental impact on the genetically engineered species. This may have a favorable or detrimental effect on animal welfare. The ramifications are specific to each and rely on the gene being added (or removed), the genome being reconfigured and its environment.
