Open Access are often defined as an instrument ultimately used for public welfare to stimulate the expansion of worldwide science. Various tissue chips are identified that although are small as compared to the entire organ/tissue, are known to perform a whole organ function once implanted. These tissue chips are designed to be effective in every sense thereby gaining maximum effectiveness during a diseased individual. One such example is Lung on a Chip device that mimics the organ. The Tissue Chip for Drug Screening program aims to develop bioengineered devices to enhance the method of predicting whether drugs are going to be safe or toxic in humans.
