The thyroid is an organ shaped like a butterfly, and lies deep on the neck surface. Your thyroid lies under the apple of your Adam, around the windpipe line. Thyroid hormones act throughout the body, affecting digestion, development and improvement, and the heat level within. Satisfactory thyroid hormone is important to emotional wellbeing during early stages and puberty.
