Suicidal Ideation

 "Mental illness, psychology. Suicidal thinking, considering, or planning suicide is also known as suicidal thoughts. Suicidal ideation ranges from fleeting thoughts, to extensive thoughts, to detailed planning. The suicide warning signs are warnings that a person may be in acute danger, and may need help urgently.  Speaking you want to die or kill yourself; Looking for a way to get yourself killed; Speaking of feeling helpless or not having purpose;  Speaking about feeling trapped or suffering unbearable pain. Aaron T. Beck, Maria Kovacs, and Arlene Weissman created the Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI) in 1979 to measure severity among suicide ideators. It was built over semi-structured interviews for use by clinicians. The scale contained 19 items rated from 0 to 2 on a scale, which allowed scores between 0 and 38."
