Sinus High Impact Factor Journals

Chronic sinusitis occurs when the cavities inside your nose and head are swollen and inflamed for three months or more, despite treatment. This common condition interferes with the way the mucus drains usually, making your nose stuffy. Breathing through your nose may be difficult, and the area around your eyes may feel swollen or tender. Chronic sinusitis can be caused by infection, by sinus tumors or by swelling of your sinuses. Also called chronic rhinitis, the condition can affect both adults and children. Chronic sinusitis and acute sinusitis have similar signs and symptoms, but acute sinusitis is a temporary infection of the sinuses often associated with colds. The signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis last for at least 12 weeks, but there may be some episodes of acute sinusitis before you develop chronic sinusitis.
