Psychosocial Work Demands
Psychosocial work demand can be due to organizational and management structure or poor work design and can result in detrimental physical, psychological and social outcomes like work
stress and depression. Psychosocial risks like excessive workload should not be confused with stimulating and challenging work while considering job demands. Well trained and motivated workforces will perform to at the highest ability. A positive psychosocial
environment will improve performance and output and will not strain the mental and physical well being of the employee.
Stress at the workplace is experience when the nature of work is greater than the ability of the worker. There will be a negative effect like poor work performance, increase in accidents and injury and increased leaves in an organization with high psychosocial work demands.
