Peptidomics

The systemic, comprehensive, qualitative and quantitative multiplex analysis of endogenous peptides in a biological sample at a defined point of time and location. These are suitable for encoding the conditions dramatically and are not accessible by classical proteomic methods such as tryptic digestion. This process of study design uses laboratory methods such as sample preparation, sample separation, mass spectrometry and interprets its data by using bioinformatics methods such as visualization, data analysis and sequence identification. Peptides serves as an excellent agent as a surrogate for protease activity and also acts in facilitating the peripheral detection. The key aspects involved in the successful study of Peptidomics are the identification and management of key factors of success and holistic approaches.
