Occupational Health And Safety Research

The Health and Safety Analysis program is responsible for the supervision and management of the medical programme. The National Institutes of Health will establish and incorporate a medical plan for laboratory animal exposure workers at any university obtaining federal assistance in research involving vertebrate animals. The program aims at stopping, monitoring and reduction of animal to human transmissible diseases (zoonotic diseases) and at alleviating adverse reactions (e.g. allergies) from exposure to laboratory animals. In addition , academic programs are developed to coach staff who are concerned about animal diseases, personal hygiene and various related issues. Research Health and Safety furthermore includes the implementation by laboratory personnel, analysis merchandise, the atmosphere, and public health of a mixture of laboratory practice and processes, laboratories and safety instruments once operated with probably hazardous materials. It is a cooperative initiative of the IACUC and the IACUC Compliance Officer (IACC), the ISA and, as a result, the BSO, the Principal Investigators (PI)and laboratory personnel.; The IACUC Compliance Officer and the Institutional Security Committee (IBC).
