Neonatal End Of Life Impact Factor
Neonatal end of life is defined as planning and providing supportive care for life and end of
life care for infants and their families when managing appropriate conditions of life restrictions. Death in early life is tragic but not uncommon in
neonatal intensive care units. In Portugal, several studies have examined the situation around the last moments of the neonate. We evaluate the care given to neonates and their families in a terminal situation and the changes that occur a decade later. Palliative care aims to improve the quality life of children faced with life threatening to keep babies comfortable and support families in caring for their babies.
The implementation of a
neonatal care initiative was associated with increases in palliative interventions for neonates in their final 48 hr of life, that may enhance end-of-life care.
