Monoclonal Antibody Open Access Journals

Monoclonal antibodies (mAb or moAb) are antibodies produced by the same immune cells and are all clones of a single parent cell. Monoclonal antibodies may have a monovalent affinity by binding to the same epitope (the part of an antigen recognized by the anticorps). In comparison, polyclonal antibodies bind to several epitopes and are typically produced by many different lineages of plasma cells (antibodies that secrete immune cells). It is also possible to develop bis-specific monoclonal antibodies by increasing the therapeutic targets of one monoclonal antibody to two epitopes. It is possible to generate monoclonal antibodies, which specifically bind to this substance, provided almost any substance; they can then help to detect or purify the substance. This has been an important instrument in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology and medicine.
