Metabolic Syndrome Open Access Journals
The cluster of conditions that occur together by increasing the risk of heart disease,
stroke and type 2
diabetes is defined as a Metabolic syndrome. The conditions include high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, abnormal cholesterol levels and increased blood pressure. Having just one of these conditions doesn't mean that you have been affected with metabolic syndrome, but it means that you have a greater risk of serious disease. The risk of complications such as type 2
diabetes and heart disease rise even higher when the person develops more of these conditions. In one-third of U.S. adults’ Metabolic
syndrome is commonly increasing. The aggressive lifestyle changes can delay when the person have a Metabolic
syndrome or even this prevents the development of serious
health problems.
