Maxillofacial Trauma

Considerable progress has been made in the prevention, diagnosis and management of oral and maxillofacial injuries in children during the last 25 years. The pattern of fractures and frequency of associated injuries are similar compared to adults but the overall incidence is significantly lower. It is more difficult to diagnose than in adults and fractures are easily overlooked.
