Limnology extensively focuses on the inland waters which studies the entire aquatic ecosystems.The physical, chemical and biological aspects of inland waters are being studied to determine the quality of the ecosystem in which majority of the aquatic animals and other inhabitants that are present. The amount of heat in the inland waters are predicted so as any aquatic based endangerment cannot occur.The chemical necessity such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and phosphorous are being checked for  preventing the damages of the coral reef and other aquatic problems.In lakes, the trophic state index are being calculated to prevent eutrophication and providing an sustainable environment.
