 Sustainable engineering is the process of using resources so that the environment is not compromised or materials are depleted for future generations. Sustainable engineering requires an interdisciplinary approach in all aspects of engineering and should not be designated solely as an environmental engineering responsibility.  To enhance the quality of life for all, all the engineering fields should integrate sustainability into their work. Millennium Development Goals are one way of assessing the socio-economic progress of communities. By building and maintaining physical infrastructure which helps eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, reducing child mortality and improving maternal health, engineers demonstrate their social and environmental responsibility for the sustainable development of societies
