Obesity is a major health concern in both developed countries and developing ones. There are many unconventional therapies to treat this condition including herbal medicine. Some people think the herbal medicines are healthy. This case and analysis is about the adverse risk of taking any herbal medication to treat obesity. Usage of herbal weight loss medication isn't always healthy. In addition , the risk is sufficient for some herbal medication to change the risk-benefit balance toward the use of that medication. Obesity remains a global health problem.1 Many people try alternative treatments, like herbal medicine, when traditional medicine fails to treat problems such as obesity, assuming they have no adverse effects. Early mechanistic research has indicated green tea could increase energy consumption. The connection between green tea and caffeine or other substances, and thermogenesis, is unclear at present. Other possible anti-obesity mechanisms include increased oxidation of fat, reduced appetite and impaired absorption of nutrients
