Forensic anthropology is the implementation in a legal setting of the anatomical study of anthropology and its various subfields, including forensic archaeology and forensic taphonomy. Forensic anthropology was seen as "the branch of physical anthropology which, for forensic purposes, deals with the identification of more or less skeletonized remains known to be, or suspected to be human. The nature of the discipline, forensic anthropology has been characterized in various ways depending on the context. These individuals are working together to draw conclusions from the evidence, primarily by applying their knowledge of the human skeleton to a particular case or subject.
