Drug Metabolism Online Journals

Drug metabolism is the metabolic degradation of medicine through dwelling organisms, generally via complicated enzymatic tactics. More broadly, xenobiotic metabolism (from the Greek xenos "stranger" and biotic "linked to living beings") is the collection of metabolic pathways that alter xenobiotics' chemical structure, which are alien compounds to the normal biochemistry of an organism, such as any drug or poison. These pathways are a form of biotransformation that is present in all major organism groups, and are considered of ancient origin. These reactions often act to detoxify poisonous compounds (though the intermediates in xenobiotic metabolism may cause toxic effects themselves in some cases). Pharmacokinetics is the study of drug metabolism.
