Computer Science Engineering

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is an academic curriculum at several universities that combines the fields of mechanical engineering and computer science, offering both hardware and software design knowledge of computing systems. The study program is based on German technical universities, in which CS, CE and IT are treated as theoretical, technical, respectively and practical part of one field called "Informatik". Pure computer science programs taught at non-technical universities typically centers around theory and software, with only some hardware; upper division courses tend to allow a great deal of freedom to specialize in software and theory related fields (e.g. algorithms, artificial intelligence, cryptography/security, graphics/visualization, numerical and symbolic computing, operating systems/distributed processing, software engineering).
