Climatology is that the study of climate, scientifically defined as weather averaged over a period of your time . this contemporary field of study is considered a branch of the atmospheric sciences and a subfield of physiography , which is one among the world sciences. Climatology now includes aspects of oceanography and biogeochemistry. Basic knowledge of climate are often used within shorter term meteorology using analog techniques, the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), the Northern Annualar Mode (NAM) which is additionally referred to as the Arctic oscillation (AO), the Northern Pacific (NP) Index, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), and therefore the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation (IPO).
