Bioprospecting Scholarly Peer-review Journal

Exploration of biological material for commercially valuable genetic and biochemical properties is also known as biodiversity prospecting. It involves researching living things to see how they can be available to humans commercially. Bioprospecting promotes biopiracyby recognizing opportunities for commercial use of biological resources and conventional expertise and by appropriating biopiracy without prior informed consent(PIT) or appropriate compensation. As a bioprospecting process involves 4 stages 1. Sample collection on — site 2. Isolation, culture and specific compound characterization 3. Potential screening for applications such as medication or other uses 4. Brand production and marketing include patenting, research, distribution and commercialization. Bioprospecting for medicinal purposes of plants and animals is used not only in pharmaceutical companies but also to the developing country and local citizens who profit from ownership of biological resources.
