Astrobiology is the study of the universe's origin, evolution, distribution, and way forward for life: extraterrestrial life and life on earth. This area of knowledge involves searching for living worlds in our system and living planets outside of our system, searching for evidence of prebiotic chemistry, laboratory and field study of the origins and early evolution of life on Earth, and studies of the potential for continuing to respond to challenges on Earth and locally. Astrobiology makes use of physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology, genetics, ecology, planetary science , geography and earth science to examine the possibility of life on various worlds and to promote identification sections that might vary from the Earth's biosphere.
