Articles On Bone Morphogenetic Protein

Bone Morphogenetic proteins (BMP) are set of growth factors which are aslo known as metabologens or cytokines. They are originally first discovered by their ability to induce the growth and formation of bone and cartilage but now BMP are considered to induce growth of few others organ systems as well. In the development and maintenance of tissue homeostasis in adult and it also plays a vital role in embryogenesis. The recombinant human BMP are now a days used in orthopaedic application which includes spinal fusion and oral surgery. The main function of BMP signal in Physiology is that it emphasized by the many roles in the pathological processes. The BMP signal misregulation plays an important role in the colon cancer progression. There are even many research articles which are published on this BMP signalling and other BMP regulators present in the system.
