Acute Aortic Dissection Research Articles

An aortic dissection is a severe condition in which the aorta's inner layer, the heart-branching large blood vessel, tears. Blood surges through the tear, causing separation (dissect) of the inner and middle layers of the aorta. If the blood-filled canal breaks through the external aortic wall, aortic dissection is often fatal. Aortic dissection is comparatively rare. The most prevalent condition occurs in men in their 60s and 70s. Symptoms of aortic dissection can mimic those of other illnesses, often leading to diagnostic delays. However, the chance of survival greatly improves when an aortic dissection is detected early and treated promptly. Journals like Cardiovascular Investigations: Open Access, Current Research: Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology all contain and deliberate research articles on acute aortic dissection
