Academic Journals In Peptide Profiles

Studies of serum peptide profiling are widely used in study of biomarker discovery. In clinical proteomics based on MS, peptide- or protein levels are mapped in a single spectrum in the serum of healthy and ill individuals, with the aim of identifying differences. Signing candidates of biomarkers found through proteomics studies holds great promise for personalized medicine. For processing and statistical analysis of peptide- and protein profiles, multiple data handling strategies have been reported, either model-based or applying different feature selection strategies. Initially the collection of features was based on simple binning procedures or local maxima finding. The accuracy of peptide analysis based on Mass Spectrometry (MS) in complex biological mixtures allows use of high-resolution instrumentation easier.
