 The role of inflammation in the development and progression of cancer is of great scientific and public health interest and has drawn much attention of late. The development of cancer, including the strengths and weaknesses of the common techniques available for each marker.C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation, infection and tissue injury. CRP is a particularly beneficial inflammatory biomarker as it is detected much faster than other markers in the blood.The best way to detect inflammation is by measuring high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and white blood cell count with a blood test.The five classical signs of inflammation are heat, pain, redness, swelling, and loss of function.Normal CRP levels are below 3.0 mg/L. Keep in mind the normal reference range often varies between labs.
