Hepatitis C is a viral infection that primarily affects the liver, causing inflammation and potentially leading to severe liver damage. It is estimated that around 71 million people worldwide are living with chronic hepatitis C. Diabetes, on the other hand, is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels due to either insufficient insulin production or the body’s inability to effectively use insulin. Both hepatitis C and diabetes are significant health concerns on their own, but research has shown that there is a link between the two conditions.
