Abstract

Contemporary imaging of the pediatric chest

Author(s): David Manson

Contemporary imaging technologies mirror the technological revolution that we are currently experiencing. Changes in technological capabilities are occurring faster than medical research can investigate and establish ‘evidence-based’ practices. Indications for newer and more technologically sophisticated imaging procedures are multiplying. Since most new technologies are applied initially to the adult population and subsequently adapted to the pediatric population, accepted pediatric indications frequently lag significantly behind their adult counterparts.
