Excessive amounts of certain components, such as nutrients, or a lack of others, such as dissolved oxygen, can cause degraded conditions and damage life. Water is known a universal solvent due it dissolves more substances than any other liquid. This means that wherever water goes, whether it is through the earth or through our body, it carries valuable chemicals, minerals and nutrients.
