 Thyroid inactivity is the underactive thyroid. The underactive thyroid is most common in old age people both in men and women. And it is more common in women compared to men. Thyroid inactivity occurs due to an increase in age their may lot of changes takes place in the functioning of the body. These lead to an increase in weight, fatigue, depression. It is called hypothyroidism. In children, it leads to mental disorders and infertility.
